Part 1 of 6The students quietly crept towards the head mistresses' spell room against their best judgment. Both moving slow as floorboards creaked and groaned as their feet shuffle along corridor. They slithered past the library, careful not to bump into anything in the dark. They exited through the north, breaking away to a narrow hallway leading to the seldom-used spell room. This room was rumored to hold the object the girls risked breaking curfew to see. With a quick look behind them, one of the students extended her hand to open the door. With little resistance, it clicked with a loud metal pop. Their eyes grew wide with surprise and they looked at each other as the heavy door creaked open , without hesitation the girls scuttled quickly through the threshold and closed the door quietly behind them.
Stale air wafted past them, the pungent odors a combination of old leather and dust-covered books invaded their senses, causing one to sneeze. The blonde-haired student wrinkled her face as they made their way to the desk. The dark haired student moved over to light the candle with a flick of her fingers. With a click and snap the candles alight. “I found it… Over here. On the desk. It’s in this hollowed out book.” Coral said quietly. As she fumbled with the book. With a tumble, the book opened and the small wooden wand bounced off the floor. The blonde knelt under the desk, picking it up all giggles and snickers. “Let’s see” The blonde mumbled. She took aim with the wand, zeroing in on the ornate grandfather clock, and mumbled something under her breath. A red spark shot from the wooden wand, and moved thunderously towards the clock. It was now surrounded by a red nimbus glow buzzing with magic and energy, the bells tolled in a melodic chime, but it did not last, the magic pops making the clock bobble back and forth frantically until it stops dead. The red magical glow dimmed as if clock was never disturbed. “Coral why the heck did you do that?” The tall dark haired girl said, holding her hands on her hips. “I thought we were here to get the wand to play a joke on Rose… Not shoot it at a clock to get us caught.” She scolded. Coral spun around and looked over at her companion. “Zoë hush your face, I was just making sure this was the right one.” With a devilish grin, Coral pointed the wand towards Zoë, and chanted loudly. “Hickimus Dickumus!” The white energy snapped, making the room silent, and before Zoë could protest, she felt the energy surge through her body. Her eyes closed and she shivered as the electricity rattled her spine. Her skin prickled with goosebumps and the static popped around her ears. Coral’s eyes went wide, and she let out a gasp.
